South River Baseball, Softball Set for Postseason Play
The South River baseball team received a first-round bye.

The brackets have been set for baseball and softball postseason play and the South River baseball team earned a first-round bye.
The Seahawks received a No. 4 seed in the east region of the Class 4A state baseball playoffs and a bye for Friday’s first-round game. South River will host the winner of the Great Mills Chesapeake game on Monday.
The South River baseball team split with Chesapeake during the regular season. On March 28, the Seahawks defeated Chesapeake 1-0, but South River fell to the Cougars 3-1 on April 17. South River finished the regular season with a 15-5 record.

South River softball will begin postseason play on Thursday. The Seahawks earned a No. 7 seed and will host North Point High School. If South River wins the team will have to face No. 1-seeded Broadneck on Monday in the second round.
