South River High Cheerleaders Win Regionals, On to State

The varsity cheerleading squad from South River High School will compete Feb. 18 at state after winning regionals.

The Anne Arundel County high school cheerleading competition was held Jan. 30 at Northeast High School.

 

According to South River High School varsity coach Robin Beck, the results were: Arundel first, Chesapeake second, Northeast third and South River fourth.

The top four teams moved on to regionals along with fifth-place Broadneck, which made it in as a wild card.

These five teams competed Feb. 8 at regionals at North County High School. Anne Arundel County took the top five spots, all moving on to state competition.

Regional results were: first, South River; second, Northeast; third, Chesapeake; fourth, Broadneck; and fifth, Arundel.

State competition will be held Feb. 18 at North County High School.
