South River High School Sports Week of Dec. 19
Home action this week includes wrestlers on Monday and boys basketball on Wednesday.

The wrestling team has gone undefeated so far this season, while the girls varsity basketball is starting with a 4-1 record. Athletes are busy early in the week but then take a bit of a break for Christmas with a few teams working the week of Dec. 26.

Friday's 56-47 win over Severna Park improved the girls varsity team to 4-1. Their only loss this season was an out-of-county game against Riverdale Baptist. This is a bye week. They'll head to for a Holiday Tournament on Dec. 28-29. After that, they host Meade High School at home at 7 p.m. Jan 3.
The boys varsity team is still finding their footing with a season record of 1-3. They travel to Chesapeake High at 5 p.m. Monday. On Wednesday, they'll host Northeast High at 3:30 p.m.

Indoor Track
Almost all of the Seahawk meets this season will be held at the Prince George's County Sports Complex in Landover. On Monday, the Anne Arundel County Public School Invitational starts at 3:30 p.m. in Landover. Head coach Hugh Harris sent us highlights from the Dec. 6 "East vs. West" where South River contributed 102.33 points for the East team total of 479 points.

Swimming
Swimming started on Dec. 16 with a win at the Arundel Swim Center on Riva Road in Annapolis. There isn't another meet until Jan. 7.
Wrestling
Wrestlers have started their season with a strong 5-0 record. They host Reservoir High at 5 p.m. Monday. On Tuesday, they'll head to Fort Meade for a tri-meet against both Arundel and Meade High Schools.
