Sunday Morning Lothian Fire Damages Triangle Tobacco Warehouse
Two tractor trailers parked outside of building were source of two-alarm blaze.
A two-alarm fire in Lothian caused approximately $50,000 in damage to two tractor trailers and the Triangle Tobacco Warehouse on Sunday, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman Steve Thompson.
Firefighters from Anne Arundel, Calvert and Prince George's arrived around 4:10 a.m. Sunday to the 1300 block of Mt. Zion Marlboro Road where they found a 40-foot tractor trailer fully engulfed in flames, Thompson said.
The fire spread to a second trailer and the nearby warehouse. One of the trailers contained carpet padding, which also caught fire. It took firefighters about an hour and a half to get the fire under control, but personnel stayed on the scene until after 10 a.m. to ensure the scorching materials did not flare up again.
