1. Local Businesses Collaborate for First Edgewater Community Day
A few Edgewater businesses are looking for a way to give back to the community that makes them successful. The first Edgewater Community Day and Barbecue will be held on May 19. The day will feature, giveaways, free food and fun.

2. The Steakhouse Back Under Original Ownership
The Steakhouse in South River Colony is back under its original ownership. George Jones and Brock Anderson rebought the restaurant on April 3 and a name change is in the works.

3. Cutting Hair at SRHS for a Worthy Cause
With help from Hair Cuttery, South River High School (SRHS) will host a cut-a-thon to raise funds for a student who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. The event will be held at the school from 5-8 p.m. on May 2.

4. Harwood Fire Causes $100K in Damages
A house fire in Harwood on Monday afternoon displaced one and caused $100,000 in damages, a fire official said.

5. Local Grandmother Dances Her Way to Good Health
Rochelle Drucker may be turning 70 years old in July, but that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her love of dance though a cardio workout called Zumba. The Davidsonville resident will be “70 years young” in July, and still manages to attend Zumba class at 24 Hour Fitness in Annapolis four times a week.
