South River High School's Lavon Chaney, Michael Seaberg and Abbey Lawrence will continue their athletic careers in college.

Three South River High School athletes have recently committed to continue their athletic careers in college.

According to athletic director David Klingel, football standout Lavon Chaney has committed to play football at Monmouth. Field hockey star Abbey Lawrence will be playing at Lasalle, and Michael Seaberg will swim at Duke.

In the 2012 season, Chaney helped lead the Seahawks to their first postseason appearance since 2006. He consistently led the state in rushing yard and was named Capital Gazette Communications’ Football Player of the Year.
