USAA Opens Mobile Claim-Filing Unit
Working from under a big blue tent in the middle of the Festival at Riva, the insurance company is helping residents file claims.
USAA Insurance rolled its Catastrophe Response Unit into the Festival at Riva in Parole on Monday to help policy holders file claims related to Tropical Storm Irene.
The insurance company is hard to miss under a large blue tent in the center of the parking lot.
The tent will be open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for several days, said Nicoe Alley, USAA spokeswoman. She said with a number of customers still without power and dealing with storm damage, USAA wanted to make filing a claim as convenient as possible.

"If you don't access to a phone, internet or any mobile channels, then all you have to do is stop by the catastrophe site," Alley said.
She said policy holders should bring any photos of the damage to their homes or cars, a claim number (if they have already started a claim) and their insurance information to the tent.
