At each interview, the opening of the eatery seemed to be in reach.

There were a variety of reasons for the delay, but Loza is now looking forward to serving south county residents authentic Mexican food.

The luncheon menu is priced in the $5 to $7 range, while dinner ranges from $6 to $13. The menu offers vegetarian options ($8.25) and a dinner for two special ($16.45). A single taco ($1.85) or two chicken burritos ($6.75) make a good addition to any meal or appetizer. For dessert, try the flan ($2.75) or fried ice cream ($3.75).

I thought that the best part of the large menu was the lexicon of Mexican food terms—answering all of my questions about the difference between an enchilada and a burrito, a tostada and a tamale.

They don't serve alcohol, but as soon as the owner gets a liquor license, margaritas, cocktails, beer and wine will be available.

Loza said he brought in staff from their restaurants in Towson and Brooklyn Park to work in Edgewater so there wouldn't be any need to train the wait or kitchen staff. They will stay on until local employees can be found and trained.
