• Amtrak Advances Planning for Replacement of Bush and Gunpowder River Bridges in Maryland (amtrak.com) — Rail travelers in and around Edgewood can expect safer, faster trips in coming years as Amtrak advances plans to replace the aging Bush and Gunpowder River bridges that bracket the community. The 113-year-old structures between Edgewood, Perryman, Chase, and Joppatowne will be modernized to boost train speeds, reduce breakdowns and delays, and ease marine traffic, with preliminary engineering expected to wrap up in 2029.
