Carroll Community College and Random House Search for Young Writers

Know any aspiring young writers? Here's a shot for him or her to get published and share work in front of an audience.

Carroll County students in first through twelfth grades are encouraged to enter a previously unpublished short story and/or poem in the Annual Random House Book Fair Student Writing Contest.

The Annual Random House Book Fair to benefit the Carroll Community College Foundation is scheduled for Saturday, March 3, 2012. Kick-off events will be held the evening of Friday, March 2, 2012.

The Student Writing Contest deadline is Friday, Nov. 18. Entries and cover sheets signed by student authors should be postmarked by Nov. 18, or may be delivered in person to the Carroll Community College Foundation office, Room M261, 1601 Washington Rd.

All finalists will be published in a 2012 Student Writing Contest booklet that will be printed by Random House. Finalists will be notified in January, 2012. 

Each winning author will have the opportunity to read an excerpt of his or her work on the day of the Annual Random House Book Fair on March 3, 2012.
