As soon as the CCAC sends out their mailing dates to volunteers, this crew is almost always the first to sign up. About six times per year, these women come to the Arts Center for a morning full of envelopes, newsletters, brochures, and labels. Their efficiency, positive attitudes, and camaraderie make the hours of labeling and stuffing hundreds of envelopes fly by. Thanks to their helping hands, the Arts Council is able to stay in constant contact with their members and spread the word about upcoming events.
When asked what makes this group of volunteers so special, Mariner replied, “Our Mailing Crew has become like family--sharing stories, laughs, lunches after mailings, and even traveling together at times. They are a wonderful group and I’m happy to be part of it.”
The staff couldn’t be more grateful to have these ladies along for the adventure at the Arts Center. The importance of volunteers to the Arts Council cannot be overestimated. They rely on volunteers to assist in offering patrons a quality arts experience.
The Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks’ Volunteer of the Year award ceremony was held at the Carroll Arts Center on November 9. Mariner, Nickolas, and Titus were there to accept their plaque on behalf of the whole Mailing Crew. Congratulations to them all!
