Carroll County Declares Snow Emergency
Eldersburg may get several inches of snow, National Weather Service reports.

On Wednesday morning, Carroll County declared a snow emergency, according to Maryland State Police and the State Highway Administration.
A snow emergency means that parking is prohibited on streets designated as snow emergency routes and drivers should use snow tires when traveling, according to state transportation officials.
Carroll County is under a winter storm warning until 6 p.m. Wednesday, withΒ 2 to 5 inches of snow in the forecast for Eldersburg.

Carroll County Public Schools were closed on Wednesday due to weather. Previously, the plan had been to dismiss early. Carroll County Public Schools will also be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.
The snow emergency went into effect in Carroll County at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officials reported. Allegany, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties have also declared snow emergencies.
