"I think they were just a better team. They were bigger, faster and they just came ready to play tonight. I am not saying we didn’t come ready, but I think they were more prepared than we were," said South Carroll’s Dan Mullen.

Walkersville scored on a 64-yard pass play on the second play of the game. The Lions scored two more touchdowns in the first quarter to take a 21-0 lead.

The Lions scored one touchdown each in the third and fourth quarters for the final margin.

"I told them we came a long way. They reached one of the goals we wanted at the beginning of the season. We got into the playoffs," said South Carroll coach Steve Luette when asked what he told the players after the game. "Unfortunately we didn’t go as far as we wanted to, so I wanted to make sure all the juniors and sophomores we had with us thanked all the seniors because it was their last game and they got us this far."

"I hoped they learned from the experience, the seniors in the leadership of getting us here and they learned something from that, so we came try to get back here next year," said Luette.

While the Lions scored 35 points, their defense also played a good game as they held the Cavaliers to 69 yards in the game.

"It had it’s ups and downs. It was a great run and it was a lot of fun playing with these guys," Mullen said about the season.

South Carroll started the season with three losses, but bounced back to win six straight, before dropping the last two.

"We are okay. We have McDermott. We have some running backs that didn’t get to show themselves this year because of the running backs we had. We got some guys that can step in and do that. We got some bigger linemen coming up. So I think we will be okay," Luette said looking ahead to next year.
