Century Wins Third State Girls' Cross Country Title

The Knights edged the Cavaliers for title Thursday.

Century won their third straight state girls Class 2A title Saturday at Hereford.

The Knights edged county foe South Carroll 112 to 113 for the trophy. Liberty was fifth with 136 points.

The Century team was Katie Todd, 8th; Beth Lang, 12th; Morgan Fagnant, 18th; Rebecca Debinski, 36th and Lillie Cimmerer, 38th.

Scoring for South Carroll was Samantha Bingaman, 9th; Olivia Lowman, 10th; Jessica Craig, 26th; Tina Graf, 31st and Jessica McWilliams, 37th.

The Lions were Sarah Rinehart, 6th; Casey Sullivan, 27th; Caroline McNary, 28th; Maura Souders, 32 and Krissy Smith, 43rd.

The Class 2A race was won by Winters Mill’s Hannah Oneda with a time of 18:28.3. The Falcons were fourth as a team.

In the boys race Century led the three Eldersburg area teams with a fourth place finish with 128 Points. They followed Winters Mill, 61; Williamsport, 110 and Poolesville with 121.

Scoring for the Knights was Patrick Anske, 6th; Kevin Slujtner, 16th; Joshua Turskey, 28th; Jon Mead, 32nd and Wesley Prettyman, 46th.
