High School Lacrosse: Lions Close Out Regular Season With Loss
Winters Mill topped Liberty High 19-2 during Saturday's game.
On a beautiful spring day in Eldersburg, the Liberty boys lacrosse team dropped their last regular season game 19-2 to Winters Mill.
The Lions were out shot in the game 36-6. Liberty didn’t get their first shot off at the Falcon goal until 1:13 remained in the first quarter.
"The kids have to stand up and get ready to play," said Lion coach Mike Flemming. "Winters Mill definitely had that focus. They were playing for a share of the county championship. They did a tremendous job. Unfortunately we did nothing to stop them today. We didn’t come out and play with any fire, no sense of urgency, no sense of passion. So when that happens this is how its going to turn out. The team that wants it more wins every time."
