Liberty And Century Capture Indoor Track Titles

Century defended their boys Carroll County indoor track title Saturday, while neighbor Liberty took home the girls title.

The Lions out paced last year’s champion Century for the girls title 110.50 to 93.50. South Carroll finished seventh.

Century ran away with the boys title as they finished 36 points in front of second place Francis Scott Key. Liberty was fourth and South Carroll sixth.

In the girls action Liberty won two of the three relays to go along with the Lions capturing the top three places in pole vault. Jamie Russell led the trio of Lions and Samantha Mcelroy took first in the 500 meter run for the Lions other first place.

Rachel Larkin and Alexis Bush took first place for the Knights along with the 4X800 meter relay.

In the boys meet, Josh Titus, Julian Woods, Nate Reeser and the 4X200 meter relay took top honors in the their events for Century.

Liberty took first place in the 4X800 meter relay for the Lions only first place.
