"We just can’t finish. We will work on that next year and look out we are coming," said Lion coach Brenda Strohmer.
Liberty goalie Anna Slusarcyk turned away four shots in the game. Eastern goalie Amanda Carmean stopped five Liberty attempts.
"It was a great match-up, it was just a good goal they had and we didn’t defend it, so we would be going into overtime right now," said Strohmer. "They played more of a defensive game to keep us from getting it through. It was tough to get it through their midfield. It was a good game. Everyone played great."
Eastern Tech is now 4-8-1 for the season, while Liberty ends their first year under coach Strohmer, 2-12.
