ATV Accident Kills One Woman, Severely Injures Man

Police are investigating the Mt. Airy ATV accident.

One woman was killed Sunday afternoon after an ATV she was driving in Mt. Airy was involved in an accident, according to police. 

Police said around 3 p.m., the driver was riding the ATV near the 2800 block of Flag Marsh Road when the ATV left the roadway, struck a utility box and then struck a tree. Two people were on the ATV at the time of the accident, police reported.

Forty-five year old Stacey Ranee May was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders from the Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Department.  The passenger, Wilson Henry McCraw Jr., 52, was transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center and remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
