Police Search for Suspect in Sykesville Bank Robbery

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon on West Liberty Road in Sykesville.

Maryland State Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a bank in Sykesville Tuesday afternoon and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, according to a press release. 

On Tuesday, Jan. 17 around 1:10 p.m., Maryland State Police Troopers from the Westminster Barrack responded to the located in the 1600 block of West Liberty Road in Sykesville for reports of a robbery.

Police said a man entered the bank and demanded money from a teller. The employee gave the suspect an undisclosed sum of money. The suspect then ran away from the store, entering an older model, dark green vehicle with a tan top and heading east on Route 26, police said.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The suspect is described as a 6 foot tall white male with a stocky build, wearing a black mask, black gloves, a red plaid shirt covering a blue shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, said police.
