Sobriety Checkpoint in Eldersburg Yields Zero Arrests: Sheriff
Officers reported stopping 236 drivers at DUI checkpoint.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office reported there were no arrests for driving under the influence during a recent sobriety checkpoint in Eldersburg.
Officers stopped 236 drivers in the course of two hours in the Aug. 8 patrol, according to the report.
Law enforcement issued two civil citations for possession of marijuana and made no DUI arrests, the report said.

Afterward, the agency sent this note of gratitude to citizens via Facebook:
“Carroll County law enforcement would like to thank the Eldersburg community for their cooperation while deputies, troopers and officers conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Liberty Road at Ridge Road.
