Sykesville Elects New Mayor, Council Members

The new officers will hold their first public business meeting on May 28.

The town of Sykesville elected a new mayor and new Town Council members Tuesday. 

Ian Shaw received 295 votes to take the mayor's seat from Mike Miller, who received 118 votes. 

Stacy Link, the only new face elected to Town Council, had the most votes, with 258, followed by incumbent Leo Keenan who had 210 votes, and Debby Ellis with 206 votes.

Also running for Town Council were Anna Carter who had 187 votes, John Ellis had 141 and Joe Moltz had 136. 

On Monday, May 20, the mayor and Town Council will hold an organizational meeting to determine who will be the Council president and which Council member will serve on which commission and committee with the town.
