Teen Found Dead in Eldersburg Identified

Investigators do not suspect foul play in the teenager's death.

Carroll County officialsΒ have released the name of the teenager found dead in a vehicle in an Eldersburg parking lot WednesdayΒ and confirmed that he had been inside the carΒ forΒ at least 24 hours.

According to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Martins grocery store in the 1300 block of Londontown Boulevard at 1:15 p.m. and found Seth James Lara, 19, dead inside a vehicle.Β 

Lara was listed asΒ a 2012 Liberty High School graduate, according to theΒ Baltimore Sun's graduation roster. Lara had moved to San Antonio sometime after graduation, which is why deputies initially reported he was from Texas.Β 

According toΒ Col.Β Phil Kasten, "[Lara]Β had been there for at least the prior 24 hours, possibly longer."

The medical examiner has not yet released aΒ cause of death but, according to Kasten, detectives do not suspectΒ foul play.Β
