The Seeds Are Set For the State Playoffs
Century, Liberty and South Carroll boys and girls basketball teams are in 2A West region.
The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association playoffs get underway this week after the seeding was completed Sunday.
The Century, Liberty and South Carroll boys and girls basketball teams are in 2A West region.
The boys tournament takes the court on Friday as Liberty travels to North Carroll. The Lions are seeded 10th and the Panthers are seventh. If the Lions win, they would face second seeded Winters Mill in the quarterfinals on Feb. 28.

Century also takes the court Friday as they travel to Poolesville. The Knights are seeded 12th and Poolesville is fifth. If the Knights win, they would travel to Wheaton on Feb. 28.
The South Carroll boys are top seeded and don’t see action until the quarterfinals on Feb. 28. They would face the winner of Rockville and Francis Scott Key.

The Liberty and South Carroll girls earned byes in the first round. The Lions are seeded second and will play the Rockville and Wheaton winner in the quarterfinals on March 1.
The Cavaliers will get the winner of Francis Scott Key and North Hagerstown in the quarterfinals on March 1.
The Century girls are seeded fifth in the region and host 12th seeded North Carroll on Feb. 26. If they win, the Knights would face fourth seeded Middletown on March 1. Century split their two games with North Carroll during the regular season.
The boys semifinals are set for March 2 and the region finals on March 4. The region winners would advance to the state tournament at Comcast Center at the University of Maryland.
The girls regional tournament has the semifinals on March 3 and the finals on March 5. The regional winners move to the state playoffs March 10-12 at UMBC.
