5 Hospitalized In Route 1 Crash: HoCo Fire And Rescue

Authorities said one person was trapped in a vehicle after the crash in the Jessup area.

JESSUP, MD - A crash on US 1 in Howard County sent five people to area hospitals Saturday, officials said.

One person was trapped in the collision on Route 1 at Gatewood Drive, authorities reported.

First responders said after 11 a.m. that they had rescued the person who was stuck.

Five people including the one who was rescued were taken to the hospital, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

Firefighters were clearing the scene after 11:30 a.m., authorities said, advising there may be delays in the area.
