Bring Deklan Home Benefit

Family and friends will be holding a benefit night for Deklan Galvanek on Thursday, March 27, 2014 from 11:00am - close. Raffles and Silent Auction will begin at 5:00pm and Live Music will begin at 7:00pm.

This event will be held at the Bowie Town Grille in Bowie, MD. At the event we will be showing our support and honoring Deklan's fight against a rare disease called Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID).

It all started out with a simple cold that soon turned into a nightmare. Deklan, who is only 8 months old, was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit and soon put on a ventilator for his breathing. After being transferred to 3 hospitals, they found out he was fighting 3 viruses, including H1N1, that were attacking his heart and lungs. Then the news got worse, they found out Deklan has no immune system due to SCID. The only treatment for this is a bone marrow transplant which also requires chemotherapy. Once Deklan is virus free they will be transferred to Duke University Hospital to start the transplant process.
