Elkridge Man Charged in Burglary Bust: Police

An Elkridge man is one of six people charged in a series of burglaries across the county that began in February, the Howard County Police Department reported this week.

Stolen items that were later pawned created a trail that led detectives to Joshuwa Wayne Collins of Elkridge and Toray Lamar Ebb of Columbia, police said.

Collins, 25, of the 6800 block of Dorsey Road in Elkridge, is facing five charges, according to court records.

Ebb, 22, of the 7400 block of Hickory Log Circle in Columbia, is facing more than 25 charges.

Each was involved in at least one of the following burglaries, police said:

• Jewelry and several guns were taken from an Ellicott City home where the door was pried open in the 13100 block of Triadelphia Road on March 24.
• Jewelry and electronics were stolen after the rear sliding glass door was broken in the basement of a Columbia residence in the 7400 block of Hickory Log Circle on March 22.
• Multiple guns were taken from a home in Dayton in the 13800 block of Triadelphia Mill Road sometime in March.
• Backpack blowers and landscaping tools were taken after locks to several trailers were broken at All the Trimmings landscaping company in Dayton on March 4 and Feb. 15.
• Several guns and TVs were taken from a Hanover home after a ground-level window was broken in the 6400 block William Street on Feb. 12.

Collins is charged with first, third and fourth-degree burglary; theft from $10,000 to $100,000 (felony theft); and malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000. The charges against Collins were from a March 22 incident, according to court records.

Collins was released from the Howard County Detention Center on $15,000 bond, police said.

Ebb is charged with 14 counts of burglary; seven counts of theft; two counts of possessing a stolen firearm; having a handgun in a vehicle; plus illegal possession of a firearm and other charges for incidents from Feb. 12 to March 31, including the March 22 burglary, court records show.

Ebb is being held in the Howard County Detention Center on $15,000 bond, according to police.

Further investigation revealed that four others were working with Ebb or Collins in at least one of the incidents, according to police:

• Kimberly Anne Rook, 28, of Linthicum Heights, is charged with two counts of possessing a stolen firearm; having a handgun in a vehicle; possession of drugs other than marijuana; and two counts of theft less than $1,000, online court records show. The charges were from a March 29 incident.
• Stephen Douglas Waltemeyer, 35, also of Linthicum Heights, faces the same set of charges as Rook, with the exception of the drug possession, according to court records. Police said both Rook and Waltemeyer were released on $10,000 bond.
• Melissa Ann Ringley, 21, of the 3400 block of Rogers Avenue in Ellicott City, is charged with three counts of burglary plus theft from $1,000 to $10,000 (felony theft) in connection with an April 14 incident. She faces those same charges in connection with a March 24 incident. She was released on $15,000 bond.
• Jeffrey Sprague Dixon, 49, of the 2600 block of Orchard Avenue in Ellicott City, is charged with four counts of burglary, malicious destruction of property and theft from $1,000 to $10,000 (felony theft) related to a March 31 incident. He was released on $15,000 bond, police said.
