Elkridge Man Died in Tractor-Trailer Crash: Police

A Howard County man was killed in a weekend crash on Interstate 70, according to reports.

An Elkridge man died over the weekend when his van crashed into a parked tractor-trailer on Interstate 70, according to reports.

Jonathan Shane White, 24, of Elkridge, was pronounced deceased at the scene after the crash, which police said occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. on Saturday, The Baltimore Sun reported.

The driver of a 2017 Kenworth tractor was performing an inspection of his vehicle on I-70 west of Cooks Lane when White's 2011 Chevrolet Express van drove into the shoulder and hit the tractor-trailer, according to WBAL, which reported the tractor-trailer driver had minor injuries.

Visitation for White will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, at Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home, 7250 Washington Boulevard, Elkridge. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, at the Kaufman Vermillion Chapel. Interment will be at Meadowridge Memorial Park.
