Howard County firefighters found woman dead inside residence in Elkridge, with what police said appeared to be gunshot wound.

The death of an Elkridge woman whose residence was on fire Saturday morning is being investigated as a homicide, after police said she suffered what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

At 10:35 a.m., first responders were dispatched to the 6600 block of Washington Boulevard for a fire at Capitol Mobile Park, where they quickly put out a blaze at a residence, police said.

Stacy Lynn Fuller, 39, was pronounced dead inside her home, according to the report from police.
Preliminary investigation indicated Fuller was murdered, according to the Howard County Police Department.

“It appeared she had suffered a traumatic injury unrelated to the fire, possibly a gunshot wound,” the report from police said.
No one else was in the home at the time of the fire, the cause of which police said remained under investigation.
