Fire on Railroad Avenue, Nobody Home: Officials

ELKRIDGE, MD – Crews responded to a house fire in lower Elkridge Wednesday afternoon, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.

First responders found fire in the first floor of a building in the 5700 block of Railroad Avenue, and officials said they had knocked the blaze shortly after 2 p.m.

No residents were inside, and crews were investigating whether the fire had spread to other parts of the structure, officials reported.

By 2:20 p.m., the blaze was reportedly under control.
