Howard Hughes Corp. Selects Columbian for Community Relations Job
Oakland Mills resident Rashida George joins firm revitalizing Downtown Columbia

Columbia resident Rashida George has been hired as the new Community and Government Relations Manager for The Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC), Regional President Greg Fitchitt has announced.
George most recently has worked as the Restorative Justice Manager for the Department of Youth and Rehabilitation Service in Washington, D.C. She is the founder of the Institute for a Restorative Future which provides training for agencies and organizations and has 25 years of experience in education, advocacy, community engagement and program development.
Active in Howard County organizations, George is a member of the Board of Directors of Oakland Mills Online and the Howard County Progressive Project. She is chairperson of the Howard County Council Racial Equity Task Force for Legislative Process.

“Rashida is bringing a wealth of experience to the redevelopment of Downtown Columbia,” Fitchitt said. “She understands the community, and she understands the changing world in which we are doing business. We look forward to having her on the team.”
George has a BA in American Culture and History from Middlesex University in London, England and a Master of Social Work from Columbia University. She is a Clinical Social Worker and Yoga Instructor, among other certifications.

George replaces Nancy Tucker who is retiring after 37 years working for The Rouse Company and its successors, General Growth Properties and HHC.
