Second Pedestrian Identified in Double Fatal Crash on Route 1: Police
One pedestrian killed Saturday night was from Elkridge, while police said the other was from Philadelphia. No charges have been filed.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A family member identified a pedestrian who was lacking identification when she was fatally struck on US 1 near Port Capital Drive over the weekend, police said.
Chawn Lamar Bryant, 18, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was one of two people killed Saturday night when they were allegedly arguing in the roadway on Route 1, according to police.
At approximately 11:14 p.m. on Saturday, police said a 2002 Honda Civic was heading south on Route 1 near Port Capital Drive when it hit the two pedestrians. A witness told police the two were in a physical altercation in the travel portion of the road.

Delcy Martinez Hernandez, 18, of Elkridge, and Bryant were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where they were pronounced deceased from their injuries.
Route 1 was closed between MD 175 and Montevideo Road for approximately three hours overnight.

Driver Zachary Jordan Tillett, 22 of Elkridge, and passenger Rachel Elisabeth Aymold, 20, of Catonsville, were not injured.
No charges have been filed, and police said as of Monday that the investigation was ongoing.
