2 Pedestrians Killed Arguing in Roadway in Jessup, 1 Remains Unidentified: Police

The Howard County Police Department is asking for help identifying one of the deceased; call 410-313-3700 with information.

JESSUP, MD — Two pedestrians were killed in an overnight wreck after reportedly fighting in the roadway on Route 1, according to the Howard County Police Department. Officials are asking for help identifying one of the deceased.

At approximately 11:14 p.m. on Saturday, police said a 2002 Honda Civic was heading south on Washington Boulevard/US 1 near Port Capital Drive when it hit the two pedestrians. A witness told police the pedestrians were in a physical altercation in the road.

Both victims — Delcy Martinez Hernandez, 18, of Elkridge, and another individual, who has not been identified — were taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where they died.

The unidentified pedestrian was described as a black transgender individual with a wrist tattoo that said "Sina." She was in her early to mid 20s and had black shoulder-length hair, according to police. While authorities said there was no identification on her person, they believe she may be from the Philadelphia area.

Honda driver Zachary Jordan Tillett, 22 of Elkridge, and passenger Rachel Elisabeth Aymold, 20, of Catonsville, were not injured. No charges have been filed.

Washington Boulevard was closed between MD 175 and Montevideo Road for approximately three hours overnight.
