Water Main Project Set For Elkridge And Surrounding Areas

Levering Avenue and River Road are some of those that will be affected.

ELKRIDGE, MD - From Howard County Government: A Howard County construction project to replace an antiquated water main in several Elkridge area locations is expected to begin on or about Wednesday, July 25.

A total of approximately 6,350 linear feet of 12-inch water main will be installed along Levering Avenue from Washington Boulevard /US 1 to Lawyers Hill Road; River Road from Lawyers Hill Road to the I-95 overpass; Park Entrance Road from the I-95 overpass to Gun Road; and Gun Road from Park Entrance Road to the CSX railroad crossing. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by early February 2019.

Temporary lane shifts can be expected during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed, and signs will be posted to advise motorists of the construction.

This water main is dedicated to the transmission of drinking water for Howard County; therefore, Howard County will complete the entire project, including the Baltimore County portions. No interruptions to public water service are expected as a temporary water main will be installed to maintain service.
