What's Open, Closed For July 4, 2022, In Howard County

Patch has the scoop on July 4 holiday library hours, trash pick-up schedule adjustments, public transportation delays and office closures.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — With the Fourth of July falling on a Monday, government offices will be closed and some services will be altered in observance of Independence Day. Howard County Government offices, courts, the animal shelter, 50+ centers and Alpha Ridge Landfill will be closed in observance of the Independence Day holiday on Monday.

There will be not be Monday curbside trash, recycling, yard trim or food scraps collection on July 4 and the county’s holiday slide schedule will be in effect for the rest of the week.

On July 4, all county parks, community centers and facilities will be open except for the Robinson Nature Center and the B&O Ellicott City Station Museum, which are closed regularly on Mondays.

The Regional Transportation Agency will operate on a “Sunday” schedule Monday and RTA administrative offices will also be closed Monday. All parking regulations and fees will not be enforced Monday.

The 9-1-1 Center, police and fire departments remain staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For emergencies, call 9-1-1; for non-emergencies, call 410-313-2200.

The Howard County Library System's branches will all be closed Monday for Independence Day.
