Winnie the Pooh and a Sleepover Too

An exciting event for preschoolers at the Elkridge library.

On August 10, the Elkridge library will be hosting a celebration for Winnie the Pooh and your child’s stuffed animals too.

Instead of pajama time, Miss Kim will be leading the Pooh and Friends Sleepover class. Children can bring a stuffed animal to the library and do crafts themed around Winnie the Pooh and the other characters from 100-Acre Woods. At the end of the 30-minute class, the stuffed animals will stay behind for a sleepover at the library.

And then when the library is closed, the animals will do what we all know they do when they’re alone—come alive. The librarians will take pictures of their shenanigans and give those pictures to the children at the follow-up class the next day.

This is not the first stuffed animal sleepover the Howard County library system has hosted; the has done them in the past. However, this is the first of its kind at the .

Parents should note not to bring the one stuffed friend their child can’t sleep without. In my house, that animal is named Moo, the most beloved cow ever. So my daughter will be bringing Timon and Pumba, new additions to the stuffed animal family. All animals will be given nametags as well, so there is no fear that a child will take home the wrong animal.

This class is a two-day session, and . Registration is required and space is limited to 20 children.

Pajama Time will not be held this week at the , but you can visit the Savage branch on August 9 at 7 p.m. for Pajama Time there.

This is a perfect activity for children 3 years and up. I will admit, like most things in my daughter’s life, I’m way more excited about it than she is.
