• 13-year-old girl killed in hit-and-run crash in Elkton (foxbaltimore.com) — A 13-year-old girl from North East was fatally struck by a car Thursday morning at Route 272 and Rogers Road in Elkton, and the driver initially fled, police said. Maryland Route 272 near Elkton was closed for about three hours while troopers investigated. State police have located the suspected Mini Cooper and detained its driver, with charges pending.
