18 HCPSS Educators Receive Bright Minds Foundation Grants
The Bright Minds Foundation has awarded $25K in grants to 18 Howard County Public School System educators.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Eighteen Howard County Public School System educators have been awarded grants by the Bright Minds Foundation, the school system’s education foundation. The grants, totaling nearly $25,000, will be used to fund innovative instructional projects during the 2022-2023 school year.
The 2022 grant recipients and their projects are:
- Rebecca Beall, Jeffers Hill Elementary School, Sensory Matters
- Megan Chrobak, Thunder Hill Elementary School, Community Building and Crisis Care Kits
- Laura Cometa, Wilde Lake High School, Empowering English/Multilingual Learners Through Literacy
- Sharon Dudley, Guilford Elementary School, Delving into Diversity
- Kara Fick, Oakland Mills High School, Anxiety Relief
- Brittany Fitzpatrick, Homewood Center, Beyond the 21
- Deborah Holmes, Gorman Crossing Elementary School, Morning Meetings: Making Social Emotional Learning Time Meaningful
- Amy Kelly, Multiple Schools, School-Based Grief/Loss Support Group (Pre-K-8th grade)
- David Klotz, Howard High School, Howard High Corner Café – Food Bank
- Michelle Levin, Hanover Hills Elementary School, Hanover Hills Community Garden
- Julia Lubelczyk, Laurel Woods Elementary School, Infusing Decodable Texts into Classroom Libraries
- Dennis McDonald, Talbott Springs Elementary School, Building Fluency and Community with Math Games
