8th Annual Pink Nite in Maple Lawn Planned for Oct. 2
Shopping/Dining Event To Benefit Howard County Breast Center and the Red Devils
FULTON, Md. – Maple Lawn’s retailers and restaurants will kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a massive display of bras and fun activities to support local breast cancer organizations.
Taking place Friday, Oct. 2, from 5 to 8 p.m., the 8th Annual Pink Nite in Maple Lawn is an evening of shopping, dining, prizes, a silent auction for gift certificates, sports items and merchants’ baskets, and the County’s largest bra stretch – 500 bras along Maple Lawn Blvd.!
WPOC’s Laurie DeYoung will join in the fun as Maple Lawn’s stores and restaurants offer giveaways items and special promotions. Shoppers and diners can pick up an event bingo card with the participating merchants listed, visit them for special items and to get their squares stamped, and win gift cards by bringing back a completed bingo card.

To date, participating merchants include Bra-la-la, Looneys, Hyatt & Co., I.M. Wine, Jerry’s Subs/ Pizza, Sidamo Coffee, CVS, McDonald’s, Harris Teeter, The Pearl Spa, Liquid Blue Denim, Today’s Image, Pet Barn, The Grille at Maple Lawn, C2 Education, Black Tiger Xtreme Regiment (BTXR), Firestone Tires, Capital Women’s Care, Columbia Academy, Kelsey’s Kloset, Karate4Girls and The Happy Yogi.
A portion of the evening’s sales will benefit the Howard County Breast Center and the Red Devils, which has invested nearly $3 million to fund treatment support for more than 5,500 breast cancer families so that loved ones are able to enter or remain in treatment.

“We do a lot of work with breast cancer and this is a fun way to get the community involved,” said Event Organizer Mary Jordan.
Jordan, who owns Bra-la-la, started the event in her store and since expanded it to include her fellow Maple Lawn merchants. She collects the bras throughout the year from her manufacturers for the bra stretch. After, she donates them to Success in Style, in nearby Savage Mill – whose mission is to assist women and men in crisis in becoming employed and self-sufficient.
