“I am delighted about my partnership with Homewood and my opportunity to provide some of their students with a free, six-week creative art program,” remarked Marianne Daley, Program Director of Abrakadoodle – Central MD. “In just their first session, students delved into the creative process and enjoyed learning in a safe, judgement-free zone in which they were encouraged to express their own feelings. I know that everyone in attendance will admire the students’ creative art pieces on display.”

In 2017 Abrakadoodle launched a challenge to its franchise owners nationwide to identify charitable needs in their respective communities and to find ways to give back part of the company’s ongoing Arts for All Campaign. Marianne Daley’s partnership with The Homewood School was forged starting with the Howard County Public School Partnership Celebration last summer at which time Ms. Daley met Suzanne McMurtray, ARL Chair and Liaison, Program Instructional Team Leader PBIS. Ms. McMurtray mentioned a need for a special art program to benefit the kids they serve. Last month, Marianne met with Christina Krabitz, the new principal of Homewood and set the art program in motion. Marianne recalls remarks at the Partnership Celebration in which Dr. Michael Martirano, Superintendent of HCPSS, praised relationships in which companies give back to the school system, saying that even small efforts make a big difference.
