These pets are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Poor Granger was found abandoned outside, alone and hungry. A neutered male Havana rabbit, he appears to be a young adult who loves nibbling on fresh veggies every day. He was adopted previously, but the adopted realized he/she was allergic and had to return Granger. He's very friendly and will hop right on over to you. He loves playing with jingle bells, stackable baby cups, boxes and tunnels.

Cocoa is a 2-year-old female aquatic turtle who may be small right now, but will continue to grow so she will need a large tank to accommodate her growth. Weekly and monthly cleanings also will be necessary to maintain her health. Cocoa and other aquatic turtles enjoy variety in their diet such as pellets, fresh fruits and fresh vegetables.

Kirk, a 1-year-old male guinea pig will call out to you the moment you walk in the room. “Wheek Wheek!” he says to get your attention. He loves to rummage and explore and will follow you around, curious about what you are doing. Kirk will come right over and wants to play with toys or get treats from you. He will be loads of fun to spend time with.

Scotty is a 1-year-old male guinea pig who is hilarious. He loves to have stuff to do in his cage. He likes to rearrange his hiding house and play with toys. He pushes them with his nose to put them in just the right place. Scotty is bashful at first but if you move slowly, he will watch you while decorating his home. Scotty has beautiful rust-colored markings on one side and looks like a completely different guinea pig on the other side. He will surely make you smile.

Ricky is a 5-year-old male guinea pig who is very friendly and very curious. His hairdo is just adorable! Ricky is easy to handle and will follow you around looking for treats and he especially likes to dig and forage around for his hay or hidden treats. He also likes to play inside and chew on cardboard boxes, so save your cereal boxes for him.

Viya is an adorable 10-month-old female guinea pig who needs to be adopted with her sister Delilah. They enjoy each other’s company and have been getting along well. They are both very curious. With someone new, they will be nervous at first. You need to move slowly and place your hand in their cage, which will give them time to get used to you. Then they will come over and sniff you. If you find out what their favorite treats are, they will get to know you even faster. These cuties like to run and be silly, playing in cardboard boxes and playing with jingle bell toys. They are not used to being held so they need you to go slow and wrap them in a blanket so they feel safe. They will sit with you and nibble on a piece of carrot or apple but no apple seeds. Viya will do best in an adult home or a home with older children that understand how to move slow with her and help build her confidence.

Lovey is a precious 5-month-old Jersey wooly. She is doing very well recovering from malnutrition and her weight is getting better every day. This sweet little bunny is in search of a forever home. Lovey is used to being handled and likes to explore new spaces. Her adopters will need to maintain a regular grooming schedule with Lovey to ensure her fur does not become matted. Her adopters also will need to follow up with your vet to make sure she gets to an appropriate weight. Her body needs to get stronger. Due to her small size, she needs to be protected from other animals that will scare her or be rough with her. She was around a small, calm dog and she eventually went over to explore the dog. She will run if the other animal moves too fast around her.
