Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week In Howard County

These pets are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Sangria is a beautiful 4-month-old female kitten looking for her forever home. Sangria arrived at the shelter as a stray and while examining her, it was discovered that she had a head tilt. She was seen by the shelter's vet and it was noted that there are two possible causes for her head tilt. The first possibility is an aural polyp and the second possibility is vestibular disease. Sangria’s adopters will have to follow up with a specialist once adopted to make sure she is receiving proper care and treatment. Still, Sangria does not let her head tilt slow her down. She is an independent kitty that loves to explore. She will seek you out for attention when she is in the mood. Sangria will do well with an experienced cat owner; bonus point if you have experience having a pet with a medical condition.

Captain, a neutered male, was rescued by a good Samaritan who found him lost and hungry on the streets. While Captain is thrilled to now have a soft bed and good food, he cannot wait to head to his forever home. He did have a cold, but now only has lingering sniffles. He's a laid back fella and loves to snooze in the sun as it streams through the window.

Dani is a 1-year-old spayed female Dalmatian that is super excited to head to find her forever family. She's an energetic girl and will help you get out and moving. Dani will do almost anything for a tennis ball, but also will relax by your feet while you're working at your desk. Dani will need to meet your resident dog to make sure their play styles match. She is high energy and may want to chase the resident cat, but if the cat is outgoing and confident, a slow introduction will help them get along.

Rosie is an 8-month-old female guinea pig who surprisingly was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. She can be shy at first, but once she feels secure in your arms, her personality shines through. Rosie will do best in a home where the children are older and can be confident while holding her.

Mazikeen is an approximately 1-year-old female Siamese. Mazikeen arrived at the shelter as a stray so no one knows how she gets along with other cats, dogs or children. But at the shelter, she has proven to be an adventurous girl and very outgoing. She enjoys pouncing on toys and is sure to keep her family on their toes.

Flower is a 6-month-old female hedgehog who would prefer a home with hedgehog experience. The children in her previous home did not handle her much so she is timid and unafraid to tell you to back off a bit. When you get past her spiny exterior and Flower feels comfortable with you, she will warm up to you and her personality shines through. Flower will do best in a home where the children are older and can handle a delicate pet like Flower.
