14 National Merit Scholars Named In Howard Co.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A second round of National Merit Scholars has been announced with winners each earning $2,500 scholarships.

The 2,500 Merit Scholar designees were chosen from among 15,000 finalists.

Last month, approximately 700 corporate-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners were named. In June and July, an estimated 3,500 winners will be announced. At year's end upwards of 6,700 scholarship winners will have earned approximately $24 million in scholarships.

Fourteen winners were chosen from Howard County:
