Barricade Situation Reported on Court House Drive
Police said that parts of Court House Drive may be closed while officers respond to a man acting erratically.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Courts are open in Ellicott City on Wednesday but police officials say there may be partial road closures in the area of Court House Drive due to a barricade situation.
Before 11 a.m., a resident was acting erratically—shouting and making threats—so neighbors called 911, according to a statement from the Howard County Police Department.
Police said that the resident has a history of erratic behavior and has made threats against officers.

When officials arrived at his residence, he refused to leave his apartment and made threats, according to police.
As a precaution, nearby apartments have been evacuated, police said after noon.

Those trying to get to Howard County Circuit Court should take Main Street to Court Avenue to Court House Drive, police said.
Those going to the Howard County District Court should take US 40 to Court House Drive.
