1 Hospitalized, 6 Treated For Heat Illness During School Bomb Threat Evacuation

FULTON, MD — A child was hospitalized and six people were treated for heat-related illnesses during an evacuation at Reservoir High School in Fulton on Wednesday, according to authorities.

Howard County police confirmed officers were called to the school on Wednesday afternoon for a report of a bomb threat.

In an email obtained by the Baltimore Sun, school officials said all staff and students were safe and had been evacuated while police conducted an investigation.

Investigators did not find evidence of any explosives, police said.

Authorities said paramedics treated six people for heat-related illnesses at the scene. One pediatric patient was taken to the hospital, police said. Authorities did not release additional information about their conditions.

Parents were urged not to try to pick up their students. Families will be notified when cars are allowed to enter. Dismissal is also expected to take place at the standard time, the Sun reported.
