Brightview Senior Living Brings 13 Memory-Care Communities Together for Wellspring Village by the Water

On Friday, September 25, Brightview Senior Living brought residents, associates and families from 13 of its Maryland dementia and memory-care communities together for the first-ever "Wellspring Village by the Water" gathering, an afternoon celebrating connection, community and the importance of raising awareness around Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

Brightview's Wellspring Village memory care communities gathered along the waterfront at Sandy Point State Park for an afternoon of food, music, games and activities, all centered on creating meaningful connections and celebrating the people who make each community special.

The event was the first gathering of its kind for Brightview and is intended to become an annual tradition, bringing residents from communities across Maryland together to build connections beyond their individual campuses while shining a light on the importance of supporting people living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia.

The event featured:

• Live entertainment from Voices for Vets
• Cycling Without Age, which gave residents the opportunity to experience the waterfront by bicycle
• A seashell hunt along the water
• Games and activities for residents and associates
• Karaoke for an afternoon of music and fun
• Lunch prepared by Brightview dining service directors
• A signature purple cocktail, "The Purple People Eater," in recognition of Alzheimer's and dementia awareness

For people living with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, meaningful social connection, opportunities for engagement and experiences that promote joy and belonging can contribute to quality of life.

Brightview's inaugural Wellspring Village by the Water event brought those values to life on a larger scale, giving residents from 13 Wellspring Village communities the chance to gather in one place, enjoy new experiences and celebrate the connections that make a community feel like home.
