Students Head to Rome, Florence and Sorrento for Spring Break

Nineteen middle school students are headed to Italy for Spring break, accompanied by four teacher chaperones: George Lovera, Lisa Scepura, Debbie DiBenedetto, and Kelli Brandt. The group has been preparing for the trip by meeting weekly, learning about the culture, planning for an Italian cooking competition, playing Scopa (an Italian card game), and doing team building activities.

The trip will include excursions to Rome, Florence and Sorrento, and visits to the Vatican, Capri, Pompeii and the many other educational experiences offered by visiting a foreign culture, including a cooking class outside of Florence in the Tuscan countryside.

A Taste of Italy Cook Off was held recently for students headed for Italy during Spring break with chaperones (front row from l.) George Lovera, Kelli Brandt, Debbie DiBenedetto and Lisa Scepura.
