Crash On I-70 Involved Tractor-Trailer: Officials

A driver was rescued in Howard County Wednesday morning, fire and rescue officials reported.

HOWARD COUNTY, MD - A tractor-trailer driver was rescued Wednesday morning following a crash on Interstate 70 in Howard County, officials said.

Before 9:30 a.m., the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services reported that its crew was working to free the driver, who was trapped on I-70 west of US 29.

As of 9:30 a.m., authorities said the victim had been freed.

Traffic was backed up on I-70 between Marriottsville Road and US 29, according to Fox 45, which recommended taking US 40 or MD 99 as alternate routes.
