Dee Athey Joins The Arc of Howard County
Former United Way Executive Selected as Director of Resource Development
Dee Athey has joined The Arc of Howard County as Director of Resource Development. Athey has over 20 years of nonprofit and grants management, program administration, resource development and volunteer management experience.
Prior to joining The Arc of Howard County, Athey was the Association Vice President of Impact Strategies and Grant Development at the United Way of Central Maryland. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Austin College in Sherman, TX, and a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX.
Athey lives in Elkridge. She is a 2012 graduate of Leadership Howard County and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the The Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County.

Since its inception in 1961, The Arc has become one of Howard County’s largest employers, with more than 300 staff members and hundreds of volunteers working to achieve full community life for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
