Driver Killed In Woodbine Crash Into Tree: Police

A 19-year-old died Sunday morning in a crash in Howard County, police reported.

WOODBINE, MD — A teen was killed in a single-vehicle crash in western Howard County Sunday morning, police said.

Pierce B. English, 19, of Germantown, was pronounced deceased at the scene on MD 94/Woodbine Road south of Brittle Branch Way at approximately 3:50 a.m., according to the Howard County Police Department.

Police said that English was headed south on Route 94 when for an unknown reason, his 2000 Saturn SL2 left the road and hit a tree.

English was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, officials said, based on their preliminary investigation.

Route 94 was closed between Frederick Road and Cattail River Drive until approximately 6:50 a.m., according to police.
