Dunloggin House Fire Displaced 4 People, Officials Say

A garage fire in Ellicott City caused $100,000 in damage and displaced four adults, Howard County fire officials reported.

ELLICOTT CITY, MD -- Four people were displaced by a house fire over the weekend in Ellicott City, officials said. There was an estimated $100,000 in damage to the home in the Dunloggin neighborhood.

Crews were dispatched at 3 a.m. on Saturday to a garage fire in the 4000 block of Spring Meadow Drive, according to the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services. More than 30 firefighters and paramedics responded, quickly bringing the blaze under control and containing it to the garage.

Four adults were displaced by the fire and were being assisted by the Red Cross, officials said. One person was evaluated for smoke inhalation at the scene but declined to be transported.

Damage to the home and two vehicles parked outside the garage was estimated to be $100,000, Howard County fire officials said.
